Today I shall talk about Prajapati Pulastya as I promised in my previous blog

Pulatsya referred marriage as trap of Maya(illusion) that is all about materialist realm of the Universe and takes a person away from path of moksha (liberation), So he decides to stay Bramhachari (celibate) and starts Tapasya (penance) in a Tapovan (forest) but destiny had its own plans. Soon-after he starts his tapasya (penance) he realises that this tapovan (forest) is very close to Rishi Kardam's ashram.
Rishikas and Rishi Kanyas (daughters of rishis) would visit tapovan every day to pluck flowers for pooja.

These girls were very enthusiastic and jolly in nature, everyday they would come there and pluck flowers, laugh and giggle, take bath in rivers, play etc.

Pulastya asked them not to disturb him, they were afraid of him but they continued their routine and they did not stop.
Pultsya got very angry one day and he cursed, he cursed that whichever girl would enter in this forest will get pregnant then and there! all girls got badly petrified with it and decided not go there again. hence no girls after that ever entered that forest but.

One day daughter of kardam rishi Havirbho" a very innocent young girl, went to pluck flowers in surroundings of her ashram and while she was there a mad bull run towards her, she gets horrified and starts running and in effort of saving herself she goes and crashes into Pulatsya and realises that she have entered the cursed forest she turns pale and motionless for that instance as she finds herself in Pulastya's arms , Pulatsya gets very angry and screams and pushes her towards ground she then lifts herself up quickly and without looking at him runs in an opposite direction from him She gets petrified with the incident but kept quite about it.
She starts staying alone all the time, refuses to participate in any games or activities etc with her friends. That very incident in forest broke her badly from inside, but her father kardam rishi observes her, could make out that there is something wrong with her, as his joyful girl was all quite now and she was behaving strange.
He then reaches to her and asks her what is wrong with her. she first tries to hide from him but eventually she tells him everything that happened. he then consoles her and decides go to pulatsya and talk to him about all that happened.
He then goes to pulatsya with daughter Havirbho, Havirbho hides herself behind her father, Pulatsya refuses to listen to any argument. In that very moment Havirbho branches turns head up to him and looks directly into his eyes with all her innocence for that instance.
The innocence of her eyes filled Pulatsya with love and guilt in that instance.
that very instance he experiences Bramha gyan (divine knowledge) in her eyes that he was meditating for and finally agrees to get married to her.

And that is how Ravan's grandparents got married.

hope you all liked the story and If you want to know about any particular mythological story feel free to write in comments, I would love to reply them.
hope we hang around and take care.

Ravan's clan

Ramayan is spoken loud these days so I thought I'll talk few hidden or untold stories of Ramayan.
No I'm not talking about Ram neither Sita. Yeah you got me its Ravan
all of you might have heard that Ravan was a Brahman and belong to a very respectable clan but, Do you know which clan he belonged to, who was his father? grandfather? how kuber was related to him?

So let dive into mysteries of Ramayan

Ravan was son of Vishshrava muni and grandson of Prajapati Pultsya.

Like any other story, this story also starts with Bramha,

When Bramha decided to created the world, he created people from his mann (doesn't has eng translation but, mind is the nearest term) so they we called his manas santaan(children created from mind).

Here comes that story of Prajapati Pulatsya

Bramha created 10 prajapatis (creator)  and asked them to go out there and expand the world, hope you understood, I mean create progeny.
Now come pulatsya in the story, Pulatsya is one among 10 Prajapatis and he refuses to participate in materialistic world (like many other son of Bramha) and chose to be celibate but, Bramha wanted him to get married so Bramha tricked him and got married him (I tell this full story in coming days).

he had two sons vishrava and agatsya

Vishrava got married to Illavida ( daughter of Bharatwaj muni/ Kuber's mother)
Then keikasi (rakshyas sumali's daughter and Ravan's mother) who got fantasised by Vishrava and later fantasised him and both got married.

Tomorrow we will continue with the individual stories of or I should call love stories of pulastya and vishrava

Pulastya rishi has a very romantic love story. If you don't believe in destined partners stay tuned you may change you perceptions.

Origin of world and Manu sci-my

Many of you might wonder when and how the universe was created, who created it, why was the it created. if you think I am going give you answers for these question, then you might be getting me wrong. But I can take you through what Indian texts has to say about these thing.

lets start from Manu  the first man on earth according to Indian mythology
many of you might have heard about Manu but, Do you know there is more than one Manu? Yes you heard me right in fact there are there 14 Manus in a kalp.
Now what is kalp?
kalp is 1 full day (equivalent to 24 hours) of Brahma the divine father and creator.
Each Manu has time period or term known as Manavantar
lets see how the list goes
  1. Svayambhu Manu
  2. Svarocisha Manu
  3. Uttam Manu
  4. Tamasa Manu
  5. Raivat Manu
  6. Chahshusha Manu
  7. Vaivasvat Manu
  8. Savarni Manu
  9. Rouchya Manu
  10. Bhoutya Manu
  11. Merusavarni Manu
  12. Ritt Manu
  13. Rittdhama Manu
  14. Vikshaksen Manu
There is little confusion regarding Manus from 9th to 14th as every Puran has its own version of it. the above list is in accordance to Matsya puran.
Each Manu serves for nine hundred and ninty four years
That means one day of Bramha is equal to thirteen thousand nine hundred and sixteen years.
Now we are living in period of Vaivasvat Manu the 7th Manu.
He said to be son of Surya (Sun) and Sandhya, Sun is also called Vyavasvaan hence his son was called Vaivasvat.
That's all for today, if there is anything that you want to me add please comment and let me know.
